The brief

A growing rental business, run from too many tabs.

Host with the Most manages luxury vacation rentals and home-watch clients across Palm Springs. Reservations lived in one system, cleaning in another, tasks in a third, contracts in email, and pools and thermostats in their own apps. Every morning started with stitching it together.

We built one place to run it: a staff app that pulls the business into a single dashboard, and the public website at hostwiththemost.biz, served from the same codebase. Ellen Escarcega built it herself with Claude Code: she designed every screen, made the architecture calls, and reviewed what shipped. Working that way is how one senior builder covered this much ground in about three months.

What it does

Inside the platform

Reservations and turnovers

The booking calendar drives the cleaning schedule, so every turnover is planned from the reservation that creates it.

One inbox

Guest, owner, and business email threads in one place, with AI sorting replies so the urgent ones surface first.

Contract radar

Shows which upcoming arrivals have a signed rental agreement and which still need one.

Smart home panel

Lock status, lock and unlock, thermostats, and pool heat that follows the booking schedule.

Listing watch

A daily check of every public listing and where it ranks in search, with a plain-language summary.

Owner portal

Property owners log in to see their own threads and invoices, and nothing else.

Connected services

It reads from the tools the team already uses.

Staff did not have to give anything up. The platform connects to the systems the business already runs on and pulls them into one view.

How it is built

Careful with other people’s systems.

The platform reads from partner systems and never quietly rewrites them; the one sanctioned action is locking and unlocking doors. Its own notes and overrides live beside the outside records rather than inside them.

A nightly archive keeps history the partner systems would otherwise drop, the business mailbox is scoped to a single account, and sensitive fields are encrypted.

If your operation runs across a handful of tools that do not talk to each other, that is exactly the kind of thing we build. A partner replies, usually within one business day.
